Can one use tooth paste while fasting to clean his mouth?
Also can one use only tooth brush without paste?

Assalamu alaikum

The important thing is that nothing should go into the stomach of the toothpaste.

Given this, it is best if the person can use a miswak as the Prophet (s) used to while fasting.

As for tooth brush on its own, that is fine since there is nothing to go in the throat.

If one was to use the toothpaste for some reason, then they can use it so long as they use very little amount of it such that they can ensure nothing of it goes in the throat and stomach but instead they ensure that all of it is spat out (easier to ensure this if little toothpast is used only) and rinse the mouth thoroughly.

Allah knows best.

Wassalamu alaikum

Jazakallah khaIR,

It alhamdulillah cleared my question regarding the usage of brush.

Another thing, can u explain the proper use of miswak. Because while using miswak, its outer coat goes in the mouth and eventually even in the stomach. Also can we swallow the saliva while brushing with miswak?
