Has any of you ever prayed in a Rain Prayer before (salat al-istisqa)?

Alhamdulillah when I was in Makkah, I had the privilege and honour of praying behind Sheikh Shuraim.

The istisqa prayer is like the Eid prayer, with extra takbeers in both rak'ahs, and a khutbah afterwards.  The Imam also turns his cloak inside out signifying that we should look into our hearts and clean them from our sins.  Because Allah gives rain to the people who repent and do good.

As Nuh (Alaihi as-Salam) said:

Waya qawmi istaghfiroo rabbakum thumma tooboo ilayhi yursili alssamaa AAalaykum midraran wayazidkum quwwatan ila quwwatikum wala tatawallaw mujrimeena

11:52 "And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him (in repentance): He will send you the skies pouring abundant rain, and add strength to your strength: so turn ye not back in sin!"
