Asalamu alaykum ya sheikh,

I just wanted know... If you earn an interest which you were not aware of, such as on
"award saver" account which you were told that it had 0.2% interest but werent affect you, however in the long run it does, DO U HAVE TO PAY THAT MONEY BACK? or WHAT DO U DO?

Considering that you're unsure of the exact amount which you earned.

JazakaAllahu kheyr
May you succeed in this life and the hereafter

Wa alaikumusalaam wa rahmatullah

Interest that was put in our bank accounts or similar things should be given away for extremely needed things such as very poor people or other things that an individual in distress or Islam.

Sheikh Ibn Baz - may Allah shower mercy on him and grant us success to benefit from his ocenic knowledge and wisdom - said that money from bank interest that comes to our account we should not use it for us but give it to any much needed things such as very poor needy people.

If we can avoid placing money in interest account then best. If we cannot avoid putting our money in interest based bank, then I recommend let the interest come and take it out and give it for Sheikh Ibn Baz said and Allah knows best.

In future please put fiqh questions on www.islamiclessons.com and not on this site thanks.

Wassalam
